i tried the Diet Meal, not bad though, just that the turkey meat is a bit too hard. |
yeah! we've reached our hotel. (: |
i chose the wrong room on the online booking, leaving glenda and I with a room with no personal toilet. ): luckily we got to upgrade our room the next day. :p |
first meal in Melbourne MOOK JI BAR! their portion size is super big. |
Day 1:
freezing morning. |
Breakfast place. |
i love the cinnamon sprinkles on the porridge. (: |
first stop: State Library of Victoria; what a beautiful day and place! |
i guess majority are mugging for their coming exam. |
i love the buildings in Melbourne, if Singapore buildings have this kind of feel. hahahaa. |
Graffiti street. |
here we are at the St.Kilda Esplanade Market! |
& Luna Park. |

@ St. Kilda beach, looking at the sunset. Beautiful. |
SUPPER. |
Day 2:
Udon for breakfast, mmmm, not fascinated by the taste. |
I LOVE CHIPS. |
we were all guessing if these three 'men' are real. we stood there for nearly 10 mins, and they didn't move a single bit. |
many graffiti walls around the city. (: |
i tried the pistachio one, pretty good. (: |
Flinders St Station. |
i was laughing so hard when I saw this picture. Glenda was trying to create the leaves-falling effect by throwing the leaves before the self-timer camera snaps 3 consecutive pictures; and this third shot captured me looking at her when I realised one leaf 'sticked' onto my fringe (and she was still happily taking her pic) . LOL |
@ Melbourne Museum |
Susie brought me to this nice Vietnamese food eatery, and the place was packed with people. |
indeed, the pho was super good. but i'm not sure if the rice roll's texture is right; a bit too hard for me. hahaa. |
Day 3:
Glenda and I went on a road trip. (: we rented a car for a day and traveled from the city to Great Ocean Road. I love road trip! Really beautiful scenery along the way. |
i was only able to look at the kangaroos from far. ): they look super cute when they're hopping around. |
LUNCH TIME. |
Erskine falls.
Teddy's Lookout. MUST COME AND HAVE A LOOK. the scenery you can see from this spot is awesome. |
on our way back. there wasn't any lamp-post along the way, both of us was super scared. Suddenly we drove into the woods and mist started appearing on-and-off; that really reminds us of some spooky movie scenes. ): |
Day 4:
BREAKFAST @ Fugazza. MUST MUST MUST MUST MUST TRY. |
the texture of the bread is good, the taste is superb! |
Glenda's breakfast at another cafe. |
i find our hotel not bad; price reasonable, and you can find all sorts of basic facilities you need. Common kitchen, balcony, gym, reading area etc. |
before Glenda heads back to Singapore. |
I'm at Melbourne Chinatown! 墨尔本唐人街 |
Tea Salon. |
High tea session with 2 besties! |
different scone flavours they serve. |
when 3 girls come together, we did nothing but GOSSIP. HAHA. |
cool game spotted outside State Library of Victoria. |
Stayed at Susie's place after Glenda went back.
Shopped at Woolworths for our groceries.
Grocery prices there in Melbourne is quite different from Singapore;
kiwi and avocado cost so much cheaper there,
but ginger and chilli there is more expensive (you'll be surprised how much they cost in the supermarket; i think housewives over here might faint if Singapore sells these at that price) .
first dinner prepared by Susie. Lemon Chicken and long beans + Stir-fried seafood and cabbage |
Lucas drove us to Crown; my first time in casino. :p |
DAY 5:
visited Queen Victoria Market early in the morning! |
if only I can find something like that in Singapore, or is there something like that here? |
THIS! I LOVE THE BREAD/BAKERY STALLS! they sell all kinds of break and pastry. I love the stalls selling different kinds of breakfast, and especially in love with the one selling Turkish food. |
BOREKS TASTE AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME. |
Spinach and cheese. the after-taste that stays in your mouth; makes you drool. |
second round of shopping. |
i forgot what this fruit is called, but the texture and sweetness is pretty special. taste somewhat like soursop. this small fruit cost me 7 + AUD, but worth a try! |
home-made wrap: cucumber, avocado, smoked salmon, carrots. Simple yet rich in taste.
crashed Susie's lecture. :p |
dinner: lemon chicken + steam eggs + stir-fried broccoli and cauliflower |
DAY 6:
first time witnessing something like that; I haven't even been to the Singapore protest before. |
San Churros. Love it. |
Super duper thick and rich hot chocolate, after I had that, I think I won't want to have those thin and watery hot chocolate anymore. :p |
DAY 7:
Ready for road trip!
Breakfast at home. |
a whole new experience. |
we brought our own lunch, got to finish the wraps, so much wraps for the past few days. |
DAY8:
A visit to the Chinese Museum.
it's really sweet of Susie and Lucas to bring me around the city (despite exams are around the corner, time for their revision) , even drove to the outskirts to see beautiful things I might not get to see in Singapore.
here, couples put a lock on this bridge to remember their promise to love each other. |
my favorite couple 'locked' their promise too. (: |
DAY 9:
I toured around the city with a map all by myself!
pretty proud of myself that I managed to figure out how the streets in Melbourne works,
and for not getting lost.
:p
Breakfast: Mediterranean mixed bowl salad. |
XXXL size childhood games @ Federation Square. |
late night dessert! |

i like this! Ferrero Rocher flavor. |
DAY10:
Zucchini wrap. I don't really like the veg taste, too raw for me. but I like the eggs, or are they not eggs? |
Mediterranean food! |
the thin crust is good, just that both of us ain't meat-lovers, so the bacon and salami is a bit too much for us. :p
Last dinner in Melbourne @ a famous thai eatery (can see from the queue and full-seating) ; food served are indeed rich in flavor, very authentic too. (: |
Gang Dang: Thai red curry. |
Som Tum: Papaya salad. |
Pud Grapow: stir-fried minced pork with chilli and basil leaves. |
Tom Yum soup. |
DAY11:
so proud of myself AGAIN. hahaa, have never cleared overseas custom by myself. everyone has their first, and this is mine. (: |
Seafood meal. I was still hoping for salmon HAHAHA. |
